About Hopeful Hearts
Hopeful Hearts of San Lucas was founded by individuals who have traveled to San Lucas Tolimán on mission trips through Friends of San Lucas.
During these visits, we formed deep relationships with the local people—connections that inspired us to take action.
Moved by their warmth, resilience, and the challenges they face, we created Hopeful Hearts of San Lucas to raise funds and extend meaningful support to more families in need.
We partner closely with Friends of San Lucas to support the 16 communities that make up the municipality, working together to bring hope and opportunity where it’s needed most.

San Lucas Tolimán is a vibrant municipality located in the Sololá department of Guatemala, nestled on the southeastern shore of the beautiful Lago de Atitlán. The town is home to approximately 17,000 people, with another 17,000 living in surrounding villages. The population is predominantly Highland Maya.
